My name is Paulene Hinds and I am the program coordinator for the youth
program Teen Town. It runs one Friday a month from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and is
usually held in the Parish Hall of St. Francis of Assisi church. The grades
involved are 5 to 8.
Newcastle Idol was a great success! There were over 100 people in attendance and
24 acts performed! Stay tuned for photos and of course the winners....
Mark these dates for Teen Town:
April 20 Sports Night at St. Francis Catholic Elementary School Gymnasium
(conflicts with the youth dance, but the school was already booked before I had
the dance schedule...sorry)
May 11 Cineplex Odeon Movie Night (Movie to be chosen closer to the date)
Take the Go bus from St. Francis to Bowmanville and back after the movie
**cost will be determined as we may be able to get a group rate for this
activity**
WE NEED PARENT VOLUNTEERS TO MAKE THIS EVENING A SUCCESS
June 15 Games Night (come out and meet Bob our air hockey table)
September 21 Newcastle Idol (Prizes!!!!!!) Come show off your talent
October 19 Halloween Mystery Dinner Theatre (Tickets will be sold in advance for
this activity: RSVP Paulene Hinds at 905 987-1573) A real dinner theatre
experience.
November 16 Sports Night at St. Francis Catholic Elementary School Gymnasium or
Movie Night at St. Francis Hall
December 14 Christmas Party/Dance Semi-Formal
January 25 Tobogganing and Pizza Party (weather permitting)
February to December 2008 dates to be determined and coordinated with the Youth
Coordinator of the Newcastle youth dances at the community hall.
I am looking for parent volunteers and students in Grade 9 to 12 who are looking
for leadership roles and/or community service hours! The leadership youth will
qualify for a weekend camping trip or a weekend indoor-water park trip in June
2007!!!
